Coincidentally, on July 23, 2011 (Saturday), I was going round some of the tattoo studios in Kuala lumpur, when I heard from my friend that controverisal openly bisexual English singer Amy Winehouse was found dead in her home in England.
Frankly I wasn’t too shock, as we all know of her abusive lifestyle of drugs and drink addiction. About three years ago, someone has already put up a site called “When Will Amy Winehouse Die?” for people to predict her early death and win an iPod Touch.
Other than her disheveled beehive or bouffant hairdo, red lips and thick black eyeliner, the late English soul singer Amy Jade Winehouse was known for her many untidy tattoos on her face, lower back, arms, chest and probably other parts of her torso. She didn’t have any visible tattoo, when she released her debut album “Frank” back in late 2003,
27 year-old dead Amy Winehouse had a winged ankh on her back, a feather on inside of left forearm, lightning bolt and a singing bird on inside right forearm, several pin up girls, teardrop, musical notes, horseshoe many more.
Most of Amy’s tattoos are on her arms. Her choice of tattoo design and coloring is categorized as “old school” styles. The shading and coloring were flat and designs were stand-alone without background shading or connection.
One of her popular tattoo was the one on her chest. A simple design of a button pocket placket above which is the word “Blake’s.” Of course Blake was her husband, Blake Fielder-Civil, whom she married in May of 2007
