The fashion industry has been waiting anxiously for the founder and chief creative officer of famous footwear label Jimmy Choo, Tamara Mellon to launch her so-called lifestyle brand soon.
Fans of Jimmy Choo (I mean the brand, and not the Hakka cobbler Jimmy Choo Yean Keat from Malaysia), and the fashion world have been wanting to know when this London-born Tamara Mellon is going to come out with another successful band, since her resignation from the company. She should be leaving Jimmy Choo at the end of November, 2011.
Just after five months when she made $170 million from the $800 million sale of the business to Labelux, and now Tamara Mellon is leaving Jimmy Choo. Chief executive, Joshua Schulman will also be leaving sometime next year.
It is kind of sad, when the international fashion world talks about Jimmy Choo these days, it is solely talking about Jimmy Choo the brand, which was founded in 1996 by Tamara Mellon. And not the Malaysian-born Dato Jimmy Choo Yeang Keat.
Remember, back when Mr. Choo Yeang Keat was still with the Jimmy Choo, he was not even invited to the company’s parties?
But in Malaysian, Jimmy Choo is a huge fashion icon and idol to many of his fans (especially those up-and-coming shoe designers)
Recently the world renowned shoe designer Jimmy Choo was invited as the guest of honour at Cameron Highlands Resorts to officially lit the Christmas trees to herald the start of the Christmas season 2011.
Anyway, Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year to Jimmy Choo, the world-famous shoe designer from Penang, Malaysia.
